sector vary depending on the commodity, but include improved monitoring methods for arthropods on almonds, Brussels sprouts, citrus, cotton, grapes, and tomatoes; economic thresholds for pests of cotton and tomatoes, production guidelines and manuals for cotton, grapes, and tomatoes, identification keys for grapes and rice, expert systems for cotton and rice, database management programs for extension agents and crop consultants in cotton , and a varietal selection program which is being used by rice breeders to identify which phenotypic traits to select to increase varietal performance. |
| Research by scientists at AESRG has also lead to incorporation of natural enemy species into monitoring programs for cotton and corn, and is expected to soon result in the implementation of predatory mite release recommendations to economically control spider mites in corn . |
